There are good people here, and with some effort and better management this place could be great. The food was reasonably good, but the place felt chaotic. Things we asked for didn't get done, and nobody seemed to know who was responsible for what, even though waitresses came by the table several times to ask what we needed. They also served my steak raw without asking how I wanted it. I hope they sort things out soon.

The beds were really comfortable, and the hotel sits right among beautiful nature. It's a handy base for visiting places like Paleis het Loo, national park de Veluwe, and Kröller-Müller Museum. Staff and service were great too. After a good night's sleep, the full breakfast is a nice way to start the day.

We stopped for coffee and sat outside on the busy terrace, which has lots of tables. To keep our one-year-old daughter from going out onto the street, we closed a small gate in the fence. A very rude, unfriendly café woman came over and opened it, then did it again after we closed it. She said people might think the café and hotel were shut and leave if the gate stayed closed. It seemed pretty clear they don't like children.

Hotel Buitenlust is in lovely, natural surroundings, with a restaurant downstairs. We took Bus 108 from Apeldoorn train station, and the driver was really nice and helpful. A great place to stay, highly recommended.

A family-run three-star hotel, well placed for visiting the nearby national park. Breakfast was a decent continental buffet. Lunch or dinner is very nice if you eat meat or fish.
