easyHotel The Hague Scheveningen Beach

The restaurant next door turned out to be a real surprise. It looks ordinary, but the food was excellent, simple and clearly made with care. The Dutch lady cooking was working constantly while I sat there before check-in. EasyHotel is lucky to have her. I also had a genuinely nice interaction with Sara, the Spanish girl on the morning shift at EasyHotel Scheveningen. She was attentive, friendly, and seemed to want to help. Even small gestures stand out here, and she had the cutest accent. The hotel is very affordable, at least in January, and one of the best budget choices in The Hague. I checked, and it’s the cheapest hotel in the city with actual front desk service. The area is quiet, with mostly longer-term working guests, and the atmosphere felt calm and functional. Great value. Good service does exist in the Netherlands, just not often.

I’d hoped this might be a nice place to stay on future trips, but the service put me off. At 6:40, I paid €1 for hot water from the coffee machine so I could make my daily tea. The receptionist didn’t offer much help, and couldn’t give me a teabag either. She said she didn’t know what she could do about the teabags, then went back to looking at her phone. Tea lovers should know they have to pay for a cup of hot water here. Disappointing.

The rooms were spotless, the staff lovely and helpful, and the sea is just a two-minute walk away. Great stay, definitely worth checking out if you’re in The Hague!

I stayed here in June 2023 while working overseas and had a great experience. The team were friendly and helpful, and shops and restaurants are easy to reach on foot. The beach is close by too, and the price was reasonable.
