At 00:30 on 02.10.2025, everything had been fine until our last night. The receptionist working the bar refused to make a gin and tonic, saying he could only serve beer and wine because he wasn't a bartender and the bartender wasn't there. When I asked whether the bartender was on a break and if we could wait, he said he was alone in the hotel. He was extremely rude and curt. Meanwhile, a man at reception had a card problem. We told the receptionist, but he said he had to sort out the bar first because he was very busy. Is this really how the hotel chain wants to present itself?

This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in the Netherlands. My room was awful and dirty, with lots of stains on the floor and hairs in the bathroom. There was no soap, and takeaway food wasn't allowed. I'd go to Van Der Valk instead, the location is better and the service is much better too.

We enjoyed staying here and would gladly come back when we're in the area. The rooms are clean and, while a little older, well maintained and practical for most travelers. It's a good basic hotel with the amenities you need, and the price is very good for what you get, particularly since breakfast is included in the Fletcher rate when you book through their site. The location is convenient, close to the center of Hoevlaken and not far from Amersfoort, and there's plenty of parking.

The restaurant was the weak point during my overnight stop on a 13-day cycling trip. I asked for water along with a beer and was told I could only have water if I ordered wine. Unbelievable. Service was generally good otherwise. My bike was kept in a secure area, though it was outside and uncovered, which was okay but could have been better.

The rooms were quiet and clean, and the location was handy for supermarkets and other nearby shops. The room wasn't very well maintained, though. We arrived on an extremely hot day, and without air conditioning it got hot inside. At least there was a fan, which we got after a nice tip. With the window open, a mosquito got in, so fly screens would've helped.
