Ameland Rentals - resort Amelander Kaap

The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was great. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and gave us tips on where to go. My only small complaint is the bath curtain, which didn't seem very hygienic because of the mold along the bottom.

The rooms were clean, though a bit dated, and some have a lovely lighthouse view. Everything has a bit of a time-capsule feel, but I can't say I had anything to complain about. The location is great too, within walking distance of Hollum and not far from the lighthouse or beach.

For 133 euro, we booked a comfort double bedroom with a bath and balcony. There were dead mosquitoes all over the room, and the pictures show the view from the room and the dirty carpets. From the balcony, all you see is the garbage boxes. We spent from 3 to 6 at night catching mosquitoes and didn't sleep at all. It felt like, during high season, hotel management didn't care how guests were feeling. If you can, stay somewhere else so your time on the island isn't spoiled. We will never come back to this hotel chain.

The food was really delicious, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful experience at Fletcher Hollum, Ameland during the November Art Month. It was clean, and we'll miss it, but we're definitely happy to go back!
