Sitting by the fire each night, toasting marshmallows under a sky full of stars, was hard to forget. The kids also got to help feed and groom the ponies, and the owner spent more than an hour with them. Het Voorhuis is comfortable, and the owners are friendly without hovering. It really feels like you've gotten away from everything. We loved it and would recommend it.

Such a cute little house, but the kitchen isn't good if you want to cook much. We also found ladybugs all over the upstairs bedrooms.

The garden has lots of little corners to sit in, plus a shed and a wood-fired hot tub with enough wood to keep it going all weekend. We also had a campfire, with comfortable seats around it and a handy extendable table. The Herpense dunes nearby are worth a visit too. Thanks for a great weekend, we'd happily recommend it. Tom and Thea rent out the back of their home to groups of up to eight. It has its own entrance, a roomy hall, two separate bathrooms and a cozy kitchen-diner with everything you need. There are two living rooms: one for TV, games at the big table or records, and a quieter one with two large recliners for reading. Up a steep staircase, four good-sized bedrooms open off the landing, each with two single beds pushed together, storage, a chair and a mirror. The prints and tapestries give the place charm, and everything was well cared for. There's also a toilet on the landing, with a sink and mirror just across the wall, useful when the downstairs showers are in use.

The place has an authentic, cozy feel, and the garden has plenty of seats. We found everything we needed there, and the location was excellent.
