The boat options are a real treat: rent a sloop or small boat from Chalet Royal's own jetty and head straight out onto the Frisian Lakes, or book a drinks cruise with a skipper. The location is breathtaking, and they make the most of the lovely surroundings. Breakfast was delicious with something for everyone, and there's an honesty bar for a snack or a drink. We completely unwound at this B&B. The charming hostess, her family, and their great tips made us feel pampered throughout. We'd love to go again.

The boat trip called "Tis Eb" (The Low Till) is highly recommended, and you'll be pampered beyond belief. Chalet Royal gave us unforgettable days, with fantastic service, many thanks. Our room was beautiful, the beds wonderful, and the location prime. We got a super warm welcome, then enjoyed a delicious breakfast outside by the water. You can rent a boat, paddleboard, or swim there. Coffee and tea are in the room, and the Honesty Bar has drinks and treats for everyone.

I stayed for two nights, but it felt like a week. Chalet Royal is a great fit whether you want peace and quiet or a little interaction with other guests now and then. It's a fantastic waterside escape from the rush of city life, with luxurious rooms and coffee and tea making facilities in the rooms. The hospitality was enormous, and during COVID-19 they had thought of everything to keep guests and others safe. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend it for couples or groups of friends.

The warm hospitality from Margot and Jules was the most special part of our stay at Chalet Royal. We were there with dear friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The B&B in Broek is a gem in beautiful Friesland, with its own little harbor and lovely rooms with private bathrooms. Breakfast was five star, served on the jetty by the harbor, and you can sail, SUP, or take a cruise through the Frisian waters in the beautiful dinghy "T 'is Eb", with delicious snacks and drinks. We can only highly recommend staying here. Margot and Jules get a solid 11 with a star from us! Wouter and Francis Dammers. We wish we could give more than 5 stars, or even a multiple of that.

Everything at Chalet Royal was tasteful and in tip-top condition, and Jules and Margot are gems who really know how to make guests happy. Add a boat trip on the Frisian waterways and our score is a solid 11, even though the rating doesn't go that high. It's the kind of secret hideaway you almost don't want to share. Dear Jules and Margot, we're already looking forward to coming back, and we'd love to bring “the children” along next time.
