The facilities were amazing and everything looked new and modern. We had to make our own breakfast, but that was fine and the food was good. One tip for arriving in Amsterdam: call Jan. I walked to his home, which may have taken an hour, but he would have picked me up at the train station.

Jan was a great host. He met us at the diemen zuid train stop and took us straight to the apartment. There’s a choice of staying in the main b&b, which is also Jan’s family home, or in an apartment in a large apartment block. We stayed in the apartment, which was clean, cosy, comfortable, and had plenty of space. The bathroom and shower were shared with other guests, but that wasn’t a problem. The extra-large king bed was comfortable and made up daily. Breakfast was supplied for us to prepare at our own time. The place is near Gazenhoef metro stop on the gaserplus line from central station.

It’s a cosy, clean, homey place, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. The host is a really nice guy. Call him when you get near, especially if it’s late, since you might have trouble finding the place. It’s close to the metro station, which takes you into the centre. Highly recommended.
