Boutique Hotel Villa de Proosdij

Breakfast was a lovely buffet with everything you'd expect, and her husband's piano playing was a wonderful surprise. He played a few songs while we ate, which made the atmosphere and experience fantastic. There was also a mini bar by check-in where you could take drinks and note what you had. We checked out feeling we'd had a very pleasant stay, and I'd gladly return and recommend it to travellers in the region. The price was good, especially with breakfast included. The welcome was warm and polite. Our hostess showed us around, explained the history of the building, built in 1840, and led us through a little cupboard door to the staircase for the two suites, including ours. She explained breakfast times and how to use the suite and electronic gate keys. Our room was small but nicely decorated, with modern touches alongside vintage paintings and furniture. The air conditioning worked well in the heat, and there was a fridge for food and drinks. The large bed was two singles pushed together, with two double duvets and a gap between the mattresses, though that wasn't an issue. The pillows were terrible, so I slept poorly the first night. My partner asked for an extra pillow at breakfast, and they provided one, making the second night more comfortable. The Wi-Fi was the biggest problem. It was unusable, so we had to use our 5g hotspot. I clocked the Wi-Fi at 10mbps, and we couldn't even browse the internet. They really need to address it with a Wi-Fi booster. The room was described as soundproof, but we could hear guests checking in across the hall through the door. The place is well located near tourist attractions, making it easy to explore Holland and Germany.

A beautiful garden, plenty of spacious free parking and a delicious breakfast, with a piano recital to make the start of the day extra special. The hosts are so welcoming and go the extra step to make sure you have what you need. I couldn't be more in awe of this place. Strongly recommend!

The rooms and beds were extremely clean and comfortable, with high quality linens, and John was happy to share what he knows about the history of southern Limburg. Early this month (March 2024), we had a very enjoyable, though too short, stay at Villa Proosdij. The owners are friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic. John surprised us with a delightful piano concert during the meal. The area around the Proosdij is lovely for spending a few days. Our stay couldn't have been better.

Family owned and run, this is an incredibly quaint hotel room in refurbished housing. The location is great, with a lovely cafe within walking distance that the owner recommended. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was lovely, with live piano music from one of the owners/workers. As a solo female traveler, I felt extra secure.
