My grandma loves this place, so we go now and then with the family. There’s a lovely forest walk around the property. I’ve only been to the restaurant and bar, though, and haven’t stayed at the hotel.

The food was tasty and there was plenty of it, and the staff were really friendly. Our room was clean and even had a bath. It’s a beautiful old building in the middle of nature, with rooms that each have their own theme. I loved all the colorful decor. There are lovely walks in the surrounding area too. I’d recommend it.

We had a great weekend in Klein Rande. The location is lovely, the house is very large, and there are plenty of bathrooms and a nice outdoor area. It’s very nicely decorated and well equipped, but it wasn’t very clean. The people at reception were very nice. Linen was charged at the last minute, 10% of the total price, and there was some back and forth that made the arrangements quite a bit of work. So I left with mixed feelings, even though it’s a nice place to stay.

The setting is absolutely stunning, but the staff were very sarcastic and the food was disappointing for what it cost. We came for the high tea at €32,95 per person, and I wouldn’t come back for it.

Breakfast turned out to be really nice, despite a couple of reviews we’d seen saying it wasn’t so good. We’d hesitated to book because apparently the management had changed recently. The hotel itself is really nice and beautifully decorated. It’s also very close to Deventer’s cute city center, with the forest right there when you start a hike from the hotel.
