There’s a small grocery shop with most of what you need, and lots of space and activities for kids. The grounds are well kept, and the staff are very pleasant. Camping options range from bringing your own tent or camper to renting a holiday house, so check what’s included and what you need to bring yourself.

The facilities were clean and regularly looked after, and everything was still open for use. We had a great time, helped by sunny, dry weather that meant no mud on our pitch. I found the site with an out-of-season discount card. It’s a large campsite beside Veerse Meer, with fabulous lake views from walks around the grounds. Most lakeside pitches are long-term, which seems fair given the discount. The cycling nearby is fabulous, with clearly marked routes across the area, and reception welcomed us in English. We could walk around to choose a pitch after a busy season, though some available spots had no grass left. Ours was acceptable. I can only give four stars because there was dog mess on it. A site operative came by to check we had the right pitch. We’d already bagged the mess, and he took it away along with litter we’d picked up.

I was happy with this peaceful campsite. It’s very clean and well maintained, and the showers and sanitary facilities are modern and spotless. There’s even a free dishwasher in the washroom block, which came in handy on holiday. Nearly everyone says hello. Nature is close by: there’s a little forest with a safe path through it where I went running each morning. Pure nature, plus a small beach tucked away in this quiet spot.

There’s a nice restaurant and snackbar, with an outdoor terrace looking over the Marina. The campsite has four swimming pools, a soccer court, and a children’s playground, along with plenty of other amenities. A really accommodating place for a great vacation.
