Camping IJsselstrand

There’s plenty for kids to do, with lots of playgrounds and swings, and they can safely walk around the park. Pony rides are available too, but you need to go to the entrance at the pony station at 9 am to book a time. The park is well organized and large, so there are all sorts of accommodation. We stayed in the new bungalows near the main reception and the River beach, and can recommend them. The children's entertainment could be better, since sometimes it’s too short or not very interesting.

I first came in 2022, returned in 2023, and was back again this year. I'll be back next year and after that, too. It’s a great campsite with beautiful scenery and new, well-kept, warm, well-equipped houses. The shop has everything and more, the service is very friendly, and the restaurant food is delicious. There are playgrounds, a pool, and a kids plaza. My son is very happy here, and so am I. In 2022, I also thought it was a lovely campsite for families. The kids have plenty to do, the houses and views are great, the shop is very well stocked, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend it.

The people staying there were really friendly, with big football games going on and kids making friends at the playgrounds. Staff were welcoming too, and the toilets and showers were clean. You can park right beside your tent or caravan, which is handy. The pool and beach are nice, though there isn't much else to do on site besides cycling, bowling if it's open, or the kids' play area. Bring a long power cable, since the electricity point was about 15 metres from our tent, and the water point was 50 metres away. WiFi uses a web page for security instead of a password, so devices like a Nintendo Switch won't connect.

The pool is freezing 🥶. My kids can only last about half an hour. The place is pretty poor overall, though I guess it's low-cost camping. Staff hardly speak English, and service isn't very quick.
