ExLibris is beautifully situated in a historic part of a charming university town, and the Dutch hotel is run exceptionally well. Leiden is where The Pilgrims began their journey to the new world. Americans especially shouldn’t miss the chance to stay here.

The hotel is in a perfect central spot in Leiden, and our room was comfortable and nice. The staff were helpful, and the neighborhood itself is very quiet. We only found the corridor noisy when several people came down the stairs together. We really enjoyed staying here and will probably return.

Room 4 was clean and quiet, with a roomy shower and very comfortable beds. Getting to it means climbing a very steep staircase, though. The building is a nice old one in a good location, and the breakfast was simple but tasty. We had a very enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was tasty and the service was nice. We had an elegant, practical room with a big bed and shower, though the little wine fridge made some noise. The bigger annoyance was being woken every morning by the alarm clocks of three other guests, since the rooms aren’t well insulated from each other. Our room was up a very steep staircase, so I wouldn’t recommend it for older people. The hotel is right in central Leiden and handy for seeing the city on foot or by bike.

The rooms were very comfortable, and breakfast was great. A lovely place to stay in the city.
