Bed & Breakfast De Vier Seizoenen

We spent three nights here with friends and had a wonderful time. The first night, we ate at the restaurant and had a great experience, with friendly, attentive staff. The manager was welcoming and very helpful with local tips, even explaining where to catch a bus. The rooms are clean and well appointed, and the breakfast baskets are packed with goodies. Thankfully, there’s no Full English. The square is lovely in the evening. It’s relaxing to get around by parking the car and walking, cycling, or taking a bus. It was lovely seeing mums cycling on the school run, with not a “Chelsea Tractor” in sight!

The menu is thoughtfully put together at this nicely tucked-away restaurant in lisse. I tried the fresh oysters, duck as a starter, and ribeye as my main. Everything was beautifully presented, and the cottage cheese pancakes we shared didn’t disappoint. I do tend to prefer bigger portions, especially at these prices.

The room was clean and cozy, though small, as you’d expect from a B&B. It also had a terrace, and I was satisfied with it. The location is lovely, right in the middle of town. In the evening, there was a public jazz concert. The town feels like a typical Dutch “dorp”, quiet and clean, and the B&B has a restaurant downstairs.

We had such a great experience. The flower menu was delicious, the service was really friendly, and the atmosphere was nice too.
