Best Western Hotel De Korenbeurs

I stayed here for work for four days, Monday to Friday, and the room was never cleaned or aired, and the bed was never made. I didn’t get fresh towels, the trash wasn’t emptied, and the coffee pods weren’t replenished. I had to leave before 7, so breakfast wasn’t an option and I had to pay extra for a lunch box instead. When I went to pick it up at 6:30, the food was already there, eggs, pancakes, fruit, and yogurt, but I wasn’t allowed in, even though other people were allowed to eat before 7. All in all, the worst hotel in Made.

It was decent, though a little dated, and there were no USB sockets. I’ve never arrived to find the bathroom bin still full from the previous guest before.

We paid €204 for one night at Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant De Korenbeurs, including dinner and parking, and the stay was disappointing. We’d booked a double bed but were given two separate beds, and there was no air conditioning. The ceiling fan didn’t work, and the small portable fan offered as the only alternative wasn’t enough in the heat. The room was uncomfortably hot for what we paid. We were also offered a three course menu without a clear explanation of what it included. We assumed we could pick from the restaurant’s usual choices, then found at checkout that the meals we’d ordered weren’t covered and there was an extra charge. Nobody had explained that to us.

The price and location were the only good parts. The rooms are old, cold, and noisy, with sounds coming from upstairs and outside. The floors aren’t carpeted, and the towels are thin. The staff weren’t kind or helpful. We were glad we didn’t stay long, and I’m surprised this place got four stars.
