There’s plenty for kids to do, with lots of parks and places to play. The beach is great for little ones too, since the water stays shallow a long way out. We found the on-site Spar shop decent, and there’s also a petting zoo and several places to eat. In mid-May it was very quiet because the local holidays hadn’t started yet. A good choice if you want a relaxed stay where kids can play outside.
In sunny weather the attractive holiday homes can look wonderful. But the place still has that lifeless feel of a big village without amenities, a bit like a commuter town. Having a few shops or restaurants among the houses would make a big difference. If windsurfing is your thing, though, welcome to your new home 😁
We stayed at one of the resorts and had a lovely time. It was peaceful, and the beach was only about a 10-minute walk away. It felt like home.
A peaceful, idyllic place near the IJsselmeer, well suited to families or groups, including people bringing dogs. There isn’t much nightlife nearby, which makes it a good spot to switch off and recharge.
