The hosts were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful, with great local tips and care throughout my stay. De Bij is charming, cosy, and beautifully maintained, full of character that suits its historic surroundings. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, and I appreciated how quiet it was and the attention to small details. The location is central enough to walk everywhere but still peaceful. It made a wonderful base in Middelburg, and I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and warm hospitality.

We had a great weekend at de Bij in Middelburg. The hotel looks beautiful, which I personally loved, and it’s right in the city centre with everything close by. Our rooms were very big, the beds comfortable, the shower great, and everything was clean. The owners were just reopening when we met them, and they gave us a very warm welcome. Staff were friendly too, and the food was great, 10/10. The warmth of the owners and staff made the whole experience especially lovely.

The food was delicious, a real culinary experience, and the breakfast served was very complete. We had a great stay, with amazing staff and rooms that were nice, clean, and comfortable. If you’re looking for a getaway in Middelburg, I’d say this is the place. I’d go back anytime!
