Hotel Restaurant het Rechthuis

The restaurant downstairs had delicious food and excellent service, and the location worked perfectly for day trips into Amsterdam. My fiancé and I stayed two nights in a beautiful, clean room and had a great experience. We hope to come back someday.

We used this as a base for daily bike rides around the region during our eight nights in April 2023. The village has a store and several restaurants, and there’s locked bike storage. It’s also a good spot for cycling in the Gooi region, about an hour from Amsterdam, and we’d definitely stay again. Our large second-floor room was described as “monumental”; it had two twin beds and a wardrobe. The shower was hot and a good size. The hotel and street were extremely quiet at night, and breakfast was more than ample.

Breakfast was good, but the rest felt a bit lacking. We were put in an old, poorly furnished separate room. The staff were unfriendly when our children made a little noise at breakfast, even though we apologized, and the hotel members responded badly. The price was far too high for what we got. I wouldn’t come back.

Free parking was handy, and the room itself was nice, but at 29 °C it was incredibly hot with no air conditioning. Opening the windows wasn’t an option because mosquitoes came straight in. I was unlucky with the heat and mosquitoes, so it wasn’t a bad stay overall. I arrived from work around 18:30 and was told that if I wanted food, I needed to be in the restaurant and order preferably before 19:00. That seems much too early for a restaurant. At 131 euros a night, it also felt expensive.
