Mercure Utrecht Nieuwegein

The restaurant can get busy, so booking ahead is a good idea. Even if you’re not staying at the Fletcher Hotel in Nieuwegein, it’s worth going for dinner. The room feels professional but still welcoming, and there’s plenty to like on the menu. I had fish cooked just right, and the burger was juicy. The food is consistently well prepared, with good ingredients and a nice balance of seasoning and texture. It makes even familiar dishes feel like a treat. For a meal in the Utrecht region, this is a reliable choice that left a strong impression.

The sauna, pool, and gym give you extra things to do at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, everything was tidy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was pretty decent too. Great hotel!

I had a comfortable room and great service, and the food was excellent. They understood my gluten-free needs and accommodated me well, with no problem.

I chose Fletcher Hotel in Nieuwegein for two nights in November because it was near the NBC Congres center, where I was attending an event. I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was so cold that I wore my coat inside on both evenings, since the heating barely worked. Noise was another problem: I could hear people in other rooms through the very thin walls, and a door slamming in the hallway made it feel like my room shook. Traffic from the busy road was audible even with every window closed. I needed earplugs to sleep. The Fletcher burger from room service was below average, so don’t expect much from the food. Probably best for someone with low expectations.
