De Hemel Hotel Suites Nijmegen

Friendly, attentive staff and a good range of house-brewed beers make this a great pub. The tasting option gives you six different beers in small servings, and I enjoyed it. The card situation was a real downside. They only take Dutch cards, meaning Maestro, and my two debit cards and credit card, all Visa or MasterCard, were rejected. Luckily my friend had a Maestro card. It seems odd for a large business when even small vendors around town accept other cards. That's why I gave it three stars, though otherwise I'd say at least four.

Their microbrewery makes fantastic beer. It's so smooth, with no aftertaste at all. Wish I could find it back home in the USA!

The garden has a great atmosphere in summer, and there's a huge choice of beers from the brewery. The beer was nice, but the food didn't feel worth the high prices. We waited almost 45 minutes for five burgers, and at that price I expected a better burger. Service can also drag when the garden is full. It sometimes seems understaffed, and one or two extra people would probably help with ordering.

We tried the beer tasting and it was amazing. The staff know their stuff and talked us through every beer in detail. Really interesting, really tasty. 10/10, would recommend.
