Hotel de Prince

Everything went smoothly for us. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the view and atmosphere were both lovely. A great hotel in a great location, one of the best around in our experience. Highly recommend it if you want somewhere reliable to stay.

ALINA was a wonderful host and did everything to make us feel welcome and at home. The location is right in the middle of the buzz, yet peaceful indoors, and we even had a small terrace. The bathroom was great, but the bed was a real problem. One side of the mattress was completely worn through with a hole, and my girlfriend woke with back pain. The synthetic blanket made us sweat all night despite the air conditioning, and the pillows were lumpy. We skipped breakfast, but it looked pretty poor for the price.

We had one of the more luxurious rooms in the historic building, and it was very nice. There's a good elevator, so no need to use the stairs. Breakfast was a good standard hotel breakfast, and I liked it. The reception staff were very friendly too. The price was high, but that was because of the Springsteen concert and free-market pricing that day. I don't have much else to complain about.

The location is very convenient and right in the city centre, and the room was clean, but that's about the only good thing I can say. For the facilities, it felt like a total ripoff. I don't understand how this is considered a 4-star hotel. The nearest public parking is quite far away, and there's no hotel parking. Reception staff were rather rude and barely spoke English. The walls were dirty, and the very old window could barely be opened without risking breaking the frame. Hot water ran out after a five-minute shower and didn't come back until the next morning. There was no sound isolation, so we could hear every word and noise from the corridor, neighboring rooms and outside. Our next-door neighbors were especially noisy, and we had to listen to sounds we really didn't want to hear. I can give it two stars for the nice, handy location, but nothing else.
