Canal View Stay Amsterdam

The climb up those steep, winding stairs was worth it, and Johannes carried all our luggage. We’re in our 70s and managed the stairs without a problem. My husband and I liked being just outside the touristy city centre, which is still within walking distance. The neighborhood is quaint and charming, with a fun restaurant/bar on the corner. Canal View BnB is a real treasure. The bright apartment has high ceilings, a wall of windows facing the canal, and lovely contemporary decor. There’s a comfortable bed, a breakfast counter with a canal view, a sofa and table, and a delightful window seat. The bathroom is very modern, and the large shower seemed to have endless hot water. Johannes is cheerful, efficient, and accommodating. He puts complimentary beer or wine in the fridge, along with snacks and breakfast cereal, and there’s milk too. You can make coffee or tea, even with frothy milk. He knows the restaurants and places to visit. We’ve stayed in scores of inns over the years, and this is one of the few we’d revisit. A 5+ stay in Amsterdam.

We really enjoyed the location: peaceful rather than busy, right by Vondelpark, with good food and bars nearby. Johannes was so helpful and quick to respond. Lovely stay at Canal View Stay, and we’ll be back!

Henry the Heron even came by in the mornings! We had a great canal view, a peaceful location, and lots of good places within walking distance. Johannes was kind, generous, and really helpful. Staying here topped off our Amsterdam trip, and we’d recommend it to anyone visiting. Totally worth the price, and we’ll return.

The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated all the complimentary food and drinks. The host was lovely and attentive. The location, right by Vondelpark with a view of the nearby canal, was excellent, and tram stops were a short walk away. Definitely recommended.
