The room looked a bit run-down and not quite like the pictures. For the price, I expected friendlier service. The bathroom was cleaned again the next day, but the stay was only okay because of the unfriendly treatment. When we arrived, the bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly: there were hairs in the shower, on the wall and towel rack, and the toilet wasn’t thoroughly clean. We also found hairs on the bed. We politely asked for the room to be cleaned again, and they agreed, but when we returned that evening it still wasn’t fully clean. We went to reception again, and then the person who was probably the owner came angrily into our room to ask what our problem was. We said it would have been nice if the room had been cleaned properly. We were told things like, “The hairs on the bed came in through the terrace” and “What am I supposed to do now?”

From the street, Hotel Royal doesn’t look like much, but inside the restaurant is nicely presented and very clean. It’s a small, intimate place with superb food. The service was welcoming and attentive, and the prices were more than fair. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth travelling a couple of miles to eat here.

We went to a party there last night and had a lovely time. The surroundings were lovely and the service was amazing, couldn’t have been better. We stayed here a few years ago too and had a very pleasant visit.

The staff were super friendly, and breakfast was awesome. It’s centrally located too. Thanks for a really nice stay, I’d highly recommend it!

The breakfast was good, and the room was okay for what it cost, though it had clearly seen better days. Getting to the town centre takes a while.
