Hotel & Restaurant Wildthout

We’ve made staying here part of our visits to Ommen, and this time we also ate at the hotel restaurant. We tried two chef’s tasting menus, with courses including pumpkin mousse with cream, halibut with ice cream on a lettuce and nut salad, pasta with meat, shrimp and scallops in sauce, venison with fried onions, deer with apple, yogurt with apples and raspberries, and cheesecake with ice cream and gingerbread. The combinations and presentation were interesting, and the service was attentive. The waiter explained each course, which added to the meal. Venison with fried onions wasn’t to my taste, though I liked the idea and how it was presented. I left with a warm impression and would like to return to the restaurant. On an earlier stay, I found the room renovated, bright, clean and fitted with modern amenities. Ours was on the ground floor with its own door outside, which felt convenient and private. There’s a large parking area, and the spacious restaurant has a cozy feel, making it a pleasant place for dinner. The hotel is quite far from the city center, so you need transport to explore. It’s a comfortable, peaceful option away from the city bustle.
