Het Vlielandhotel

We stayed one night at Het Vlieland Hotel while running the Stortemelk Halve Marathon, and it was such a good experience. I only wish we’d booked longer. Our sea-facing room was modern and functional, and for the price the hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s right on the seafront and main street, with lots of gezellig restaurants and bars nearby. The ferry terminal is just a three-minute walk away. The staff were super friendly and let us have coffee after checkout while we waited for our return ferry. There’s no coffee pot in the room, but coffee is available in the restaurant. There’s no air conditioning either, though they can provide a small fan if it gets hot. We skipped breakfast, but it looked so good that we secretly wished we hadn’t. I’ll definitely come back for a longer stay next summer!

The cozy interior, comfortable bed, hearty breakfast, and friendly staff made for a wonderful stay. Taking off a star because the shower and bathroom could have been cleaned better.

The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful, and the bright, friendly breakfast room was a nice place to start the day. We loved the welcoming staff and inviting lounge for relaxing in the evening. The rooms were spacious, with a modern style that still felt traditional. Such a cozy hotel, just a step from the ferry. A great stay, and I’m sure I’ll return someday :)

A lovely weekend away. The ferry, main road, and everything else are close by. We enjoyed the nice breakfast, and the staff were very friendly.
