I went for a business lunch and came away very impressed by the food and quality of service. It’s a very good hotel in a remote location in Rotterdam’s suburbs.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was nice, but I ended up in the B&B suite for three nights because of a booking mistake. It was very old and cold inside. I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

This was my second visit, and I had another nice experience. The rooms are comfortable, clean and nicely decorated, and both the food and service are great. I love that dogs are welcome. Some people, me included, come here to work, and the view is my workplace 😉

The best thing is the pool. It’s the warmest I’ve ever tried in the Netherlands, with direct access to a terrace where you can sunbathe and a sand area for kids. The pool hours are limited during the week, and they weren’t even respected when I was there. On Monday at 12, when it was supposed to be available, a class was taking place, full of older ladies with a teacher who shouted, so I had to leave. The sauna costs 9 euro per hour and requires a reservation. Breakfast was really poor quality: coffee worse than IKEA, no gluten-free or alternative milk options, and I couldn’t eat the scrambled eggs. There’s no guest area for coffee or tea, though you can get some in the room, where it was better than breakfast but still bad. The family room bathroom felt like a low-cost hostel, and there was no bathtub option even though it’s one of the most expensive rooms. The corridor smelled damp, and during breakfast a dog beside us kept barking. For the same money, I could have had a better experience. This definitely isn’t a 4 star hotel.
