We stopped in for lunch and really liked the restaurant’s view and atmosphere. The owner was surprisingly friendly, and the food was nice. Prices seemed reasonable, with most lunch options under 20. If we come back to texel, we’ll visit again :)

The portions were a little small, but the pork and lamb tasted nice. The manager was friendly and polite, and suggested some dishes for us.

We didn’t get to eat here. We arrived without a reservation, sure, but the person who greeted us was rude, unfriendly, and dismissive. All she had to say was that they were fully booked and ask if we wanted to come the next evening. We would have been happy to. Maybe we missed out, but we spent our money at Havenzicht accross the way instead, and it was excellent.

We booked a table, and the menu clearly said the chef would make sure guests with allergies could enjoy a meal. But when we explained one person couldn’t eat garlic, we were told every dish had already been prepared with garlic and they couldn’t help at all. We watched the chef refuse to even try to find a solution, so we left pretty disgruntled. If anyone in your group has an allergy, don’t bother booking.

The view is the most striking thing about the venue, which fits the name "Havenzicht". Service was very friendly, and the prices are fairly affordable. Still, in a restaurant I’d expect the dishes to be the main thing people notice.
