Leonardo Hotel Papendrecht

My superior room was very spacious, with a pretty decent bathroom and modern amenities throughout. Getting here was easy, just off the motorway after the on-ramp. There’s free outdoor parking, or the hotel car park is directly attached for a small fee, €7 when I stayed. From there, you can go straight to reception and take the lift to your room. I didn’t particularly dislike anything, though I got at least five, maybe seven, emails from the hotel in the week before my stay about getting ready for my day. That felt like too many.

The restaurant was great, and the staff were friendly. My room was absolutely clean, the bed was fine, and it was nice staying at the hotel. In winter, though, the room felt a little cold. The thermostat only let me raise it by 3 degrees, and it was still a bit too chilly.

The TV was the one small letdown. Reception was temperamental, the guide didn’t say what was on, and smart TV features like Chromecast and streaming weren’t available. Still, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel felt calm and relaxing, and it was clean and welcoming, with genuinely friendly, helpful staff. Secure parking gave me peace of mind, even though it cost extra. Absolutely brilliant.

The reception staff were outstanding, so friendly and helpful. Thanks to the team for the warm welcome, and to the housekeeping ladies for changing the towels regularly. My stay was excellent. The rooms could have had larger TVs, and I’d have liked a slightly more varied breakfast selection.
