Astrid and Wim, thank you! Your hospitality felt endless. Everything seemed possible if we asked first, and I felt right at home. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The place itself was truly unusual, even more absurd than the website suggests. It reminded me of a mix of Het Land van Ooit and Villa Kakelbont. One restroom has disco lighting, so if you're epileptic you may want to avoid it. This was a first for me: disco dancing and party peeing ;).

The place smelled musty and moldy throughout, and the mattresses were terrible. The bedding wasn't clean, so we all slept fully clothed. The whole garden was overgrown up to your waist. Inside, there was mold on the mirror rim, the shower rim had been taped shut with duct tape, tiles were missing, the shower head was full of limescale, and there were spiders and dust everywhere. Even crumbs from the previous guests were still on the table. We were bitten all over by mosquitoes despite keeping the window closed. The coffee cups were full of bugs, and the coffee pods were rock hard. Everything in the kitchen was past its expiration date, not just by days but by months or years. Some products dated back to 2016. In desperation, we got breakfast at McDonald's.
