A clean, tidy place with everything looking new, and the hosts were really friendly. It’s close to Amsterdam and works well for a relaxing break. Don’t miss it if you’re passing through.

The two guest rooms share one bathroom, so for a group of four it’s best to book both rooms together. Breakfast was very good. The countryside view is lovely, and it’s a good base for visiting the beach, Amsterdam, and the IJsselmeer.

We had several spots in the garden where we could sit and barbecue, and the service was excellent. The place felt very homely, and we’d stay again on our next trip to the Netherlands. We stayed in the lovingly renovated annex. Its narrow, steep stairs up to the second floor were uneven and creaked with every step, but that added to the rustic feel.

We booked both rooms as a family, so the dining room, WC, and shower were all ours to use. The breakfast was simple but tasty, and the place was very clean and peacefully located, about 15 minutes by car from Zaanse Schans. It’s a lovely, recently renovated B&B, run by enthusiastic and friendly owners. The wooden floor creaks quite a lot even when you walk carefully, which might get annoying if the other room is occupied by a couple you don’t know.
