Beemster Oase

Getting into Amsterdam is easy, but the place still feels tucked away in a pretty, semi-rural setting, with the bus stop about a 10-minute walk away. The accommodation was clean, tidy, and lovely. Nico and Joke were wonderful hosts, thoughtful and quick to help if we needed anything.

We really enjoyed the surroundings, even with the weather being less than ideal. Joke and Nico made us feel very welcome. Breakfast wasn't included for our second morning, but for €10 per person we could have a great one with homemade plum jam, apple juice, and tasty apples from their garden. A lovely B&B.

The rooms were fantastic, and breakfast was excellent. The owners were super friendly, too. Nothing to add, we'll definitely be back!

It was so peaceful there, with greenery everywhere in July, sheep and chickens around, and a canal nearby. Our bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen were separate from the main house, all very clean and new. The hosts were lovely and even collected us from the bus stop, then drove us to the train station when we left. We rented bikes for €8 each and enjoyed the beautiful route to nearby places like Edam and Volendam. For getting there, the bus from Amsterdam Central takes around 20 minutes, though a single ticket costs €6.50, followed by a 12-15-minute walk from the stop. A great choice for a day trip if you want some quiet and nature away from the city noise.
