Luxe Bosvilla Aquarius

The little ones especially enjoyed the play area and garden, and House number 6 was nicely furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable family holiday. Nearby bread rolls were easy to get, and we also bought fresh milk from a local farmer. The place looked a bit bigger in the photos, and the walls are thin enough that you hear what's going on inside. That’s a minor quibble, though.

The setting is lovely, with a forest and the IJsselmeer about a 20-minute walk away. Our group had plenty of bedrooms, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens, roomy seating areas, and a large dining table. Each room had its own shower with a strong spray. The house was very clean, though not perfect, which is understandable for such a large property. Noise carries through the open spaces, and the garden looked bigger in the photos. It also sits beside a busy road and has no gate, so young children can't safely play there alone. Even so, we’d definitely come back. It’s a great place to stay.

There’s plenty to do around Gaasterland, from forest walks, swimming, kitesurfing, boat rentals and cycling to shopping. Good restaurants nearby have cozy terraces too. The villa itself is beautiful, super clean, fully equipped and tastefully decorated, in a fantastic setting. It has everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

The owner was so friendly and helpful, and the lovely grounds gave us plenty of room to enjoy our weekend. We stayed at Villa Aquarius, which was beautifully furnished with such attention to detail and exceeded our expectations. We’re already looking forward to visiting again. Thanks again! Josef Station
