I was working in Roden and spent a week here. It was good value, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. I’d been a little concerned when I realized it was above a bar and restaurant, but there was no noise at all once I went up to my room. Since I was working unusual hours, staff even left me a packed lunch each day when I missed breakfast. I’d highly recommend hotel Onder Der Linden and would stay again.

We stopped in for a glass of wine and ended up having a fabulous lunch. The wine list is great, and the beetroot hummus with avocado and salad was the best I’ve tasted, absolutely lush! The service was impeccable. I wish I’d got the waitress’s name, her knowledge of wine was spot on. Maybe we’ll stay next time we visit. The owners are trying to be planet friendly, and I’d suggest swapping the toilet freshener for one with less plastic. That’s my only gripe!!!! We’ll be back x. The terrace could use some more up-to-date furniture to finish things off and keep up with the menu.

I’ve stayed here twice, in different kinds of rooms, and it’s fine. My biggest bug is the noise in the morning when other guests leave. They’re either very loud or the place could use better soundproofing.

The rooms are clean and have everything you need, and both staff and owners are friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the centre of lovely Roden, as well as a castle, an old church, and the forest. Highly recommended.

My wife and I travel by bike (wielrenfiets), and both the hotel and its staff are very bike friendly.
