We had a good meal in a semi-private dining room off the main area, which suited our group perfectly. The steak I ordered and the shared starters were excellent, and the wine was good too. Service was good. Passing plates and reaching across was a bit of a hassle because the table was large, especially with shared starters, though I know that's not an easy thing to change.

It was a family-run hotel in a quiet, old part of Roermond, just beyond a beautiful park. The staff were very friendly. I chose it for its reasonable price compared with central hotels and its relative closeness to the Pieterpad walking trail, even though it was outside the centre. My room was clean, with a private bathroom and a spacious shower, and the bed was comfortable. I missed having a way to make tea or coffee. There is no lift, which could be a downside for older guests or anyone with a disability. Dinner in the restaurant was good value for the quality, with very large portions, and there was a cozy bar next door. Breakfast was a simple continental buffet with freshly cooked eggs available.

The interior is a bit unusual, but the place has its priorities right: the food and service are what matter. The pasta was spot on, especially the well-balanced sauces, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Prices felt fair for the location and quality. Table service was quick, attentive and friendly, with a professional but familiar feel. Check ahead if you want to bring a dog. We could bring our dachshund because lunch wasn't too busy.

The Italian restaurant is the highlight here. Their weekly set menu is very well priced, and the food is full of flavor. The prawn linguine was simply delicious, and the vegetable lasagna was soft with an exquisite tomato sauce. I also loved the red fruit tartlets, with their rich, crunchy base. They have a back garden for summer evening dinners. It's a small, comfortable and clean hotel about 1km from Roermond city centre, and the rooms are very quiet. Continental breakfast is served every day from 8-10 am. Out front there's a pub with terraces on both sides. They can lend you a bicycle for exploring the city and suggest nice corners to visit. This little hotel and restaurant really surprised me with its food quality, flavor and prices. #restaurant
