CityHub Rotterdam

The pods are a concept I really like, and the place was clean and smelled fresh. The staff were great, always available and keen to help. There's also a self-service bar with free tea, ice, and a boiler. In January, when the hotel isn't very busy, it was perfect. I'm not sure what it would be like in a busier season. The location is good too.

The LED setup was my one real frustration. You have to install an app ✨ to control the lights, but it only offers five colours: purple, red, green, blue, and white. They were all too bright or uncomfortable to look at, with no brightness adjustment. A few more controls would help, or the existing button could cycle through modes with a short press and turn the lights on or off with a long press. Whoever designed that interface should be ashamed. We had no noise problems, though; the place seemed well soundproofed. The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was clean and well maintained, and check-in was quick and easy. One of our bracelets didn't work, but they replaced it right away. I really like the concept: the accommodation is almost as compact as a hotel, yet still gives you plenty of privacy.

I felt safe travelling solo as a woman, and the pod was quiet despite being on a busy road. It was clean and had enough room for my luggage and to pray, with lighting I could control. I got an early check-in, which was great. Perfect for a night, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The pods are clean and don't feel cramped, a great fit for a short stay in the heart of the city. Just let us control the lights without installing an app. A web app would do, or the button could cycle through the lighting modes or something.
