Hotel Rose Rotterdam

I found this one of the most comfortable hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms are spacious, and the shower products are great. Coffee and water are free on the ground floor, and you can take a bottle upstairs to your room.

Friendly staff and a well placed hotel. My room was roomy, clean, and nicely designed, with Frama and Davines products in the bathroom. One thing to know ahead of time: they reserve a deposit for the room.

The online check-in was the frustrating part for us. It requires the app, asks for a lot of personal details, and took us 10-15 minutes. There’s no Dutch-language phone support either, so you have to contact the hotel through the app’s chat. The rest was good: friendly staff, modern rooms, a handy location, and a continental breakfast that suited us fine (see photos).

The room was clean and had all the toiletries, but the stay was still terrible. It was almost level with the street, so people could look right in and I couldn’t open the curtains. I felt like a fish in an aquarium. I’d called weeks ahead and asked for a good room, but that didn’t help. Customer support sounded sleepy and dragged out the call without doing anything about the request. We arrived late and couldn’t get in because the door said the entry code was in an app we didn’t have. This was a three-day booking, so why was I expected to download an app? Luckily, someone came out and the door opened. And if you want to stay in bed a little longer after waking up, this isn’t the hotel for you.
