We had a lovely, brief stay at De Achterdiek. The setting was quiet, the hosts were welcoming, and in the morning there was a tasty fresh breakfast basket waiting for us. The half-door on the shower could be a bit awkward to get through if you're carrying a few extra pounds, but we had a wonderful time.

It’s a lovely base for exploring Drenthe. The guesthouse feels airy, with all those windows, and it’s spacious, cozy, and nicely equipped. You can tell the details have been thought through. Breakfast is generous and changes things up, with everything fresh each day. There’s a garage where you can store and charge your bike. I felt very welcome here.

Hostess Sonja was warm and friendly, and gave us ideas for things to do nearby. We had a few wonderful days to ourselves in the fantastic sheepfold room. Breakfast was lovely and everything had been thought of. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle.

The area around Sonja and Henk's place is great for walks and bike rides, and there are some good restaurants close by. We were warmly welcomed for our weekend stay, October 11-13, and the accommodation was better than we expected. The room was tastefully done and had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing and deserves a special mention. We enjoyed our stay so much that we'll definitely come back. Thank you!

Sonja and Henk made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The rooms have a lot of charm, and breakfast is just as thoughtfully prepared, with plenty of choice. You can have it in your room or out on the terrace. We felt so comfortable during our weekend. Thanks for a lovely stay, we'll be back!
