Best Western Hotel Den Haag

A really cozy place to stay, and the staff are so nice. Breakfast and dinner are available for every room at an extra cost, and there's room service too. The location is even better, with transit nearby. The only letdown was the guest internet. I couldn't get webpages to load reliably, but everything else was great.

I work in the hotel industry and booked while the rate was still fully cancellable. Right after making the reservation, I wrote to this Best Western hotel twice to ask if my children could stay in the room for an extra fee, and I also tried calling. I didn't get a single reply. The hotel only got in touch on arrival day, while I was already traveling in the Netherlands and due to check in, to say we couldn't stay in that room. I asked if we could have an additional room, but they refused. When I then asked to cancel, they said no and charged my credit card, even though I'd contacted them several times during the free cancellation period. I booked through Booking, but the hotel offered no help or solution and showed no customer focus. I've never experienced this kind of treatment in my professional career. I've heard plenty of negative feedback about this hotel in The Hague, and I strongly advise against staying here. Communication, customer service, and guest relations clearly don't matter to this property.

The hotel facilities are basic, with a very simple breakfast and a small dining room. Our room was tiny, perhaps 5m2 for the bedroom and “office” together, plus a bathroom of less than 2m2. It's in the middle of suburbia, far from the centre, conference venues, and business areas. The staff were friendly enough, but next time I'll make sure work finds me a better place. A mediocre stay in a poor location.

A good 3 star hotel, with friendly service and a rating that feels right. The breakfast was very good for a hotel in that category, with lots to choose from. The location is good too, and you can walk around the neighborhood to find nice restaurants and bars.
