I’m sticking with 1 star. The cottage may be fantastic and the people probably lovely when everything goes smoothly, but based on how they handled my complaint, I’d stay far away. Max, have a great life too, and I mean that sarcastically. It looked beautiful, and I was excited to find it still available at short notice for the Easter holidays. But three days passed without any reply to my booking request, not even an acknowledgment. I had no idea whether the weekend could still happen or whether I should look elsewhere. The cottage then suddenly disappeared from Natuurhuisjes, so it seemed someone was working on it. Repeated contact form messages got no response, and there were no other contact options. I wouldn’t book for now, or count on getting a quick answer about whether a request will be accepted. I eventually got an email reply. They blamed the other person, didn’t apologize, and asked why I hadn’t called instead of writing a review. But there are no contact details on their site or the other sites advertising the cottage, and the forms I used went unanswered. I had no other way to reach them. Surely a phone number is the least I need to call. They said it wasn’t their fault they hadn’t replied, but mine for getting worried after three days. That’s a strange way to handle a complaint. Why not just apologize? Is this how they solve problems? And why respond to my reply with the extremely professional “Pfff… the things you can get worked up about”?
