The cottage is in a beautiful location and has lots of potential. It felt like an extension of the antique shop, with antiques everywhere. We were there for our annual girls' weekend, and getting together is something we look forward to since we live all over the Netherlands and have busy jobs and families. Sadly, hygiene overshadowed the visit. We saw mice running around several times, and there were mouse droppings in the bed. The kitchen cupboards were sticky, too. We felt uncomfortable, and one of us even left early, which was a real shame on a weekend we'd been looking forward to. The hosts were friendly and let us check out later because no new guests were arriving, which we appreciated. Still, hygiene and pest control should be taken care of, especially at this price and with a location that sets high expectations. With some attention, it could be a fantastic place.

After our original reservation had to be postponed because of COVID, we were grateful to reschedule. The house is on a quiet, charming street in the town centre, but staying there was a huge disappointment. It was incredibly dirty: peanuts under the couch, a full ashtray, dirty glasses, a stain on the floor beside the bed, and a filthy bathroom, as shown in the photos. We felt so uncomfortable that we only slept there and left as soon as we could. When we got in touch, we learned that cleaning had been forgotten, and we had to make do with an excuse. Cleaning fees are included on the website, yet the place hadn't been cleaned and we were still charged for it. That doesn't seem reasonable at all.
