B&B Hotel Elselina

We both had a good setup for working during our stay, and the room had everything we needed, including a microwave, cups, cutlery, and dish soap. It was cozy and clean, with a nice view of a small canal, and the bed was very comfortable. Sleeping in a house on the canal was a very positive life experience, and it was lovely to stay so close to Rotterdam. The kitchen and laundry room in a separate house in the garden were useful for a longer stay, and we appreciated having free coffee. Rotterdam was easy to reach by tram at any time during the day. There’s also a grocery store and other shops close to the apartment. The host who welcomed us explained everything in detail, and she and her husband are lovely, kind, respectful people.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We had a bad experience with the host and his wife. They treated us badly and didn’t show us respect.

I still remember this place with a bitter taste, even though it’s been about a year since I stayed there. The owner and his wife were quite rude, and they were inconsiderate enough to make noise above my room at midnight. The beds were far too short for a tall person, the mattresses were old and uncomfortable, and the pillows seemed more for show than for sleeping. You also have to wear the sandals they supply, and it’s bad luck if they don’t have your size. Parking is hard to find if you come by car, and you need to ask the owners PERMISSION to share a meal with another guest. I can’t recommend this place at all. It might be okay for one night if you’re traveling without a car. That’s probably where the positive reviews come from.

The TV channels were awesome, and the big shower came with toiletries. The bedroom was nicely appointed with everything you’d need. The hostess gave me a lovely, warm welcome, even having house shoes ready for me.
