Roompot Bungalowpark Schin op Geul

The setting has lovely views and plenty of grass, with good hiking and biking routes and restaurants within walking distance. The playgrounds, trampoline, basketball and football areas were great, and you can borrow a ball. The bike rental was also very decent. We sometimes had hot-air balloons floating right above us, which was a nice extra. The kids enjoyed the big indoor play area, but the nearby seating for adults was seriously worn, and the place felt deserted. Even the restaurant smells put us off going in. Getting to the cabins was a challenge because of the gravel and lack of smooth access, especially with strollers, wheelchairs or luggage. Inside, the rooms were OK, but the rough wall finish, which I assume is a design choice, kept catching the kids when they scraped against it because the beds are pushed up to the walls. The mattresses were very bouncy: some people found them comfortable, others didn't. The lumpy pillows could do with improvement too. The kitchen was adequately equipped, with lots of pots, but there was only one frying pan, and its coating was scraped down to what seemed like a health hazard. To be fair, we never asked for a replacement, so that may be on us for being too lazy to ask. The people at reception were extremely nice.
