Gasterie Lieve Hemel

We came as a group of seven on 7 January 2023 and chose four courses with paired wines. The meal was perfect, served with French know-how, especially when it came to the wines. The staff were capable and friendly. On a dark, rainy winter day, the stove was burning brightly. I imagine the place must feel bright in summer daylight too.

The food and wine were nice, and the private wellness was a real plus. We enjoyed our stay, though it could have been even better. Service needs work: staff should be better trained and informed, since they gave us incorrect information about what the place offers. The garden and terrace also lack privacy.

A lovely secret garden, cosy rooms and breakfast in a glasshouse make this a special place to rest when travelling for work. The wine selection is great, and the management is charming. A hidden gem around Eindhoven and Venlo. I'll come back next time I'm in the area.

The food was good, and both the hotel and restaurant have a charming feel. What really made us want to stay longer was the team's warmth and kindness. We spent two nights at the Gasterie around New Year and had a relaxing, lovely time. We'll definitely be back.
