Hotel De Prins

The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and in a great spot. The bathroom door really needs replacing, though. That was the only thing keeping me from giving five stars.

The location is handy for shops, the train and bus stations, and even the police station is just a stone's throw away. Staff speak English and were helpful, though check-in is strictly at 4 pm, so arriving early won't help. Breakfast is continental only. Rooms are basic, and the standard one felt a little small, so I'd ask reception about an older Superior room. It was clean.

For the price, this is a lovely place. The host was really nice, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It got pretty warm, though. Opening the window meant dealing with the busy street, and the fan they provided helped but was so noisy that getting cool was difficult.

The first night's staff member was kind and helpful, but the woman working the next day was the rudest person I've met on my travels with my husband. At breakfast, which ran until 10:30, she cleared almost everything from our table at 10:20 and pushed us out. She also kept insisting we'd already received a receipt for the services, even as we tried to explain we hadn't. She stayed extremely rude throughout. The room was uncomfortable in several ways: far too hot and noisy, with a bed that was too soft and pillows that were too high. The bathroom had no proper door, just a Western movie style setup with no privacy, and its ceiling was so low that at 1.74 cm tall I hit my head while showering. Breakfast was very poor, with low quality and frozen products. I wouldn't recommend this place even for one night.
