The owner or staff member behaved completely inappropriately. After checking in by phone, I missed a small sign at the entrance saying bicycles weren't allowed and left my bike in the hall. The woman arrived about 15 minutes later, was very rude, nearly shouting at me, and then argued with nationalist Geert Wilders talking points, including that a Dutch person would behave better. That's reason enough for me to stop supporting this business.

They apparently don’t consider the place suitable for anyone under 30. They said over the phone that they’d refund us, then stopped responding. Watch out, scam.

The ground-floor room was clean and tidy, and the service was good. But the rules were so strict they felt almost militaristic: no visitors in the room, no food, and “zero tolerance” with eviction if you broke the rules. There were cameras in the rooms too. Such a shame. I think friendliness and hospitality should be at the top of any hotel’s priorities.

The steep stairs were a bit uncomfortable and wouldn’t suit people with physical disabilities. Aside from that, we’d love to return. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and you can make your own coffee. This unusual little hotel sits in the heart of Sneek, right beside the landmark. There’s no reception, and all the necessary details come by email or WhatsApp. The housekeeper is very friendly, always smiling, and happy to answer questions. Jikke next door serves a good breakfast, and plenty of other restaurants are within walking distance.
