All I wanted was a clean, warm room without a smoke smell, and I left feeling uncomfortable, as if I’d done something wrong. I wouldn’t stay here again. Our first room smelled strongly of smoke. The window had apparently been open all day when it was around 0°C, and the room was bitterly cold. The hotel had no heater for us. At checkout, we noticed other guests were also complaining about the temperature. Trying to switch rooms turned into a stressful mess. First we were told we couldn’t move, then that we could only move if we split into two single rooms, and eventually we got another double room. The receptionist also kept asking if the bed had been used. My partner misunderstood the first question, but rather than checking the room, they resold it as it was. When it turned out the bed had been used, they seemed annoyed with us. I still don’t understand why they kept asking us instead of inspecting it themselves. I really wish we’d stayed somewhere else.

The other staff were lovely too, friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. Kyle really made our stay special. He was so professional and clearly had a great attitude toward his work. Absolutely awesome, and I highly recommend this hotel.

The room for one was pretty tiny, but for the price and how genuinely clean it was, that didn’t affect my rating. If you only need somewhere to sleep and keep your luggage, it does the job. I was surprised by how lovely the stay was, especially since it was one of the cheaper options nearby. The location is great, with a small wooded area maintained right by the hotel. There’s a bus stop with a direct route to the National Militair Museum, which was great to visit while in the area, or to Amersfoort Centraal, the nearby train station. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a simple buffet, well organized and with good options. I was lucky to get a reservation at the restaurant. Its menu is small and compact, but the dishes were done very well. I’d recommend it for a trip around Amersfoort, or if you’d rather stay outside the cities and still get into them without much hassle.

The room ran a bit warm, but we appreciated the friendly welcome and helpful staff. There’s a secure building for bikes. The restaurant was decent too. We arrived late, and the nice staff still let us place a quick order a few minutes after the kitchen had officially closed.
