NH Waalwijk

The kitchen was excellent, and the restaurant staff were admirable and very patient. We got a special offer for one night after visiting the efteling and arrived late, but reception was very pleasant. Our room was clean and modern, with a few signs of wear. That didn’t bother us because it was otherwise well kept and furnished. I’d certainly recommend the hotel for a night or a weekend exploring the surrounding area.

The room was clean, though it could have been maintained a little better. The wallpaper and water pressure could use attention, but everything else was perfect. Breakfast was fresh and good quality, with cheerful service and attention to guests. Check-in was smooth and came with all the information we needed. Communication before arrival was good, and they arranged all our requests nicely. The hotel is very close to Efteling, just five minutes by car, and the service was good and professional.

I loved having a bathtub for the first time in a hotel. The room was clean, and breakfast had a good range of choices, including some healthy options. For some reason there was a third bed in my room. I asked reception to remove it, but it stayed there for the full two weeks. Also, every morning I was asked to show my vaccination pass. Why not just write it down?

The Thyme restaurant serves good quality food, though the quality can be inconsistent sometimes. The hotel has free parking, and its fitness centre is small but well equipped. The rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly. It’s one of the best NH hotels in the blue category. A very good hotel overall, and I’d stay again.
