The staff were the best part for my wife and me. They were superb, patient, and accommodating. Our room was made up daily, which we aren’t used to in the US. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, a five-minute walk from the boardwalk area and three minutes from Konig Strass (Kings Street), with plenty of places to eat and gift shops. You can get an adult beverage in the bar area pretty much any time. We stayed 10 days and really enjoyed this classic hotel. The rooms have an old-world feel. Our bed was two small beds joined together, leaving a seam in the middle, which took some getting used to. The water pressure was great and the tub was full sized. Breakfast was the standard European spread of meat, cheese, eggs, coffee, and yogurt, and was quite fine. Parking is in an underground space accessed by an elevator. It’s unusual, but worked well and costs extra. There isn’t really any other parking.

Everything was clean and well kept, and the breakfast spread was great. The food was fresh, with the staff replenishing it as soon as it ran low, or even before. The staff were fantastic, fun, and friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with them. They were extremely helpful and very forgiving. We’d definitely stay again.

The lounge was wonderful, and the location and beach view were superb. Outside and in, the hotel reminded me of Fawlty Towers, though the staff were nothing like that, they were polite and accommodating. The rooms were a bit dated, but that added to the nostalgic feel. They were clean and functional, and I’d come back.

We stopped at the restaurant for a refreshment while visiting the hotel for nostalgic reasons, based on an experience there in the past. The staff were super friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I’d definitely consider booking a stay here in the future.
