Hotel Albion

At night the room was cold. When I called reception at 00.15 to ask for extra blankets, the receptionist said, “I'll see what I can do,” then hung up. I got no reply for 15 minutes. When I called again, I was sent to voicemail, and after that my calls went straight there with no explanation. I wouldn't have complained if they'd just given us a clear answer, but instead they gave us the silent treatment. Breakfast ran from 09.00 to 11.00, but there were no seats for us when we arrived, even though a big eight-seat table by the window was empty with a reserved sign. Other guests kindly let us sit with them. The breakfast spread was a joke, barely any food, and what there was only covered two rooms before we had to wait another 30 minutes. We tried calling a few days before arriving to book, but nobody answered, so we booked online. The Google photos made us think we'd get a decent room. Instead it was almost too small, with a view of flats towering over the hotel. When we checked in at 15.05, we got a strange comment that we were nearly too late, despite my email saying check-in was from 14.00 to 18.00. The owners have a parrot that squawks whenever something bothers it, but when we asked them to remove it, they blamed the neighbors for owning it. Never again, and I wouldn't recommend this place. The price and quality don't match.
