Millie was lovely and helpful at breakfast, making sure people had what they needed and greeting everyone with a smile. There was plenty to choose from, and the egg Benedict I had was delicious. The room was comfortable, clean, and good for a restful night. I found the location convenient for everything, yet quiet and relaxing at night. Everyone made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to visitors in the area. I'd happily come back.

The hotel itself is pleasant, but the way local management handled communication made the stay much worse. Their manner came across as defensive and personal, and didn't feel professional. I had a very different experience with IHG Guest Relations, whose response was calm, respectful, and much more appropriate. My issue wasn't with a particular policy, but with how it was explained.

The bar has a cool feel thanks to its vault, but on Saturday it was completely empty. When we went in, the barman stayed on his phone instead of putting it down. That was a shame. We were also told the wrong breakfast hours. On weekends it runs until 11, and on weekdays until 10, so we ended up late for breakfast on Monday. Apart from the woman cleaning the kitchen, no one seemed to care. The hotel is beautiful, but the service fell short. The shower and bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly, with fingerprints and empty bottles left behind, and staff didn't seem concerned when we raised it.

Set in a historic building right in the heart of downtown, this lovely property has renovated rooms and very friendly service. I highly recommend stopping by the bar for a drink, it's unique and iconic in the NLs. The rich breakfast was great too.

The people working there were consistently friendly and helpful, but several things about the stay let me down. The room wasn't properly cleaned, with empty bottles left behind and an unfilled soap dispenser. The bar shut as early as 3:00 p.m. The whole property looks quite worn, which gave me the impression of weak management and poor quality control.
