The warm welcome from the owner and host set the tone for my four nights here. Check-in was easy, my single room was very clean, and the shared bathrooms were spotless too. I also really liked the breakfast buffet, with plenty to choose from, and the Christmas decorations made the breakfast room feel especially nice. It’s about a 15-minute bus ride to the city center and Scheveningen beach. For what I paid, the room service, food, and hospitality made this a great choice. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

Staten Hotel feels wonderfully homey, with none of that impersonal, overly dressed-up hotel atmosphere. The rooms are bright, clean, roomy, and comfortable, and breakfast is great too. It’s close to the Kunstmuseum and a reasonable distance from the beach. We love this place. Staten Hotel, stay just as you are!

A good pick if you’re traveling alone and want a small city hotel with some personality that won’t cost too much. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable and in good shape, and everything was clean. There’s a steep staircase at the entrance, so keep that in mind. Breakfast is simple with a decent range of food, and the hotel lady was friendly and polite. It sits on a pleasant brick-paved shopping street, among little shops, good places to eat, and lovely homes. The beach and city center are reachable by bike or public transport without too much trouble. Recommended!

The family room was pleasant, though fairly small, and the owner was very kind. Breakfast was good, and the hotel is close to the World Forum with tram and bus connections into the city. The bathroom was the weakest part: the toilet and shower are so close that using the shower flooded the whole room. The sink is outside the bathroom beside a bed, which worked fine. There are quite a few narrow staircases and no elevator, so hauling luggage up isn’t ideal. I had a very positive visit overall, though some of the newer single rooms smelled strongly of paint.
